How To Win Your Girlfriend Back: She Agreed To A Date - Now What?

By Rachel Davis

If you're trying to get your girlfriend back, one of the things you'll need to maneuver through is that "first date" you have with her. But to win her back, you are going to have to think outside of the box. By that, I mean don't do the usual and plan dinner and a movie. If you do, you're wasting a huge opportunity to reconnect and build a strong bond with her again. Here's what I mean...

The most important part of this date is that it needs to be emotionally charged. By that, I mean you want to do something different and exciting. Something that makes your heart race.

If you can create an experience that is exciting and emotionally charged, you'll be creating a bond between the two of you. You'll create a strong imprint on her memory - something she won't soon forget.

It's true! Remember the last time you rode a bus, took a ferry, or flew in an airplane? Okay... how much to you remember about the person who was sitting next to you? Probably not much - I know I can't!

But... what if you were onboard the US Airways flight that made an emergency landing in the Hudson River?

Imagine the pilot has just said, "brace for impact" and you're terrified. Is this it? The faces of your loved ones flash through your mind.

Suddenly you hear sobbing and notice the little old lady sitting next to you. She looks a little like your Grandma - and she's even more scared than you are.

You reach over and take her hand in yours. You hear yourself saying, "It's alright. We're going to make it through this."

So, here's a question for you... Do you think you'll ever forget that sweet little old lady? Will she ever forget you? No way! You'd never forget a single thing about that moment.

Of course, you don't need to experience something this dramatic on your date... but you do want to plan some things that will be more emotionally charged and exciting than usual. Clearly, you need to steer clear of the ol' "dinner and a movie" date.

In fact, try to create a few mini dates throughout the afternoon or evening. What can you do that will get that ol' heart pumping? One idea is a short roller coaster ride. If you live near a boardwalk, you could start your date there.

So don't just do 'dinner and a movie' with your ex because...well...it's BORING! And it doesn't create a bonding...or in our case a RE-bonding experience.

If you want to know how to win your girlfriend back, remember this. It's a sociologically proven principle that emotionally charged experiences promote bonding. You'll be smart to use it to your advantage on that first date!
